DESCRIPTION: WW - Seiko "Captain Willard" Diver, ref 6105-8119, circa 1974, automatic, 44mm x 48mm to lug tips, 19mm lug width, original stainless steel screw back case with bi-directional dive bezel and locking crown, vintage black rubber strap, original black dial with applied silver luminous indices, date aperture at 3, 17J cal 6105, s#432264, triple signed. Probably the best original condition Willard this cataloger has seen in recent memory. It is famed for being used in the 1979 war epic Apocalypse Now, worn by Martin Sheen as Captain Willard. These plucky Seikos were quite popular with GIs in Vietnam due to their incredible durability and their relatively cheap cost.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, no oxide; nearly flawless dial; nearly flawless hands show very light surface spotting; unpolished case shows very little wear, still retains all of its original factory finishing, no dents or dings; original locking crown shows little wear, lock works as intended; excellent glass crystal.
